CAMBRIDGE CHILDREN'S CHORUS
FALL 2010 CHORUS
The Cambridge Children's Chorus is a new program for children
hosted by the Multicultural Arts Center and directed by Jamie
Kirsch, Music Director of the Cambridge Community Chorus and Director
of Children's Choruses at the New England Conservatory. All auditions,
sessions and performances are being held at the Multicultural Arts Center
at 41 Second Street, East Cambridge, MA.
AUDITION: TUESDAY, JULY
6, 2010 - FROM 3-5PM
Children need to attend only one audition, and may arrive between 3PM
and 5PM.
ABOUT THE AUDITIONS:
No need to bring any materials to the audition! Just join us and plan
to have fun and show us your love of music!
Children who audition do not need to know how to read music, but should
love music and singing and be able to attend the weekly summer sessions.
Children who live in and/or attend school in Cambridge and who will
be starting grades 4-8 in Fall 2010 are eligible to audition.
Children must be accompanied by either a parent or an adult
guardian for the audition. Those selected will be contacted by phone or
email. Registration for chorus members will be held 1 hour before
the first session. Session schedule for the fall is still being
determined, but will most likely begin in early September. Payment for
all sessions is required to register. Please see additional information
about payments below.
ABOUT THE CHORUS:
The repertoire will
focus on international music, reflecting the diverse student population
of the City of Cambridge.
Chorus sessions will
be held weekly on a weekday, after school. The schedule for sessions is
still being determined, but there are a total of ten (10) 75-minute
sessions and one performance.
FEES:
Each session is $7 (for a total cost of $70) payable at the time
of registration. Registration is being held an hour before the
first session. Payments may be made by check or cash only (no credit cards).
There are no other fees involved and the children will not be required
to wear special clothing or uniforms.
